Our Story

Gothenburg has been a part of Hamilton’s restaurant scene since 2009, first at a location on Hood Street and since 2014 in our current riverside location.

 

We are a family owned business with a strong focus on our team, who are the lovely people who greet, serve and cook for our customers.

 

Our tapas concept comes from a love of sharing a meal with friends and loved ones. We love the dynamic of a busy dining table and the experience of trying food inspired from different parts of the world.

 

We enjoy establishing relationships with New Zealand suppliers and showcasing their craftsmanship within our menu.

 

We are strong believers in looking after our environment and do our best to be conscientious of where we source our products, as well as how we dispose of our waste.

 

We are very proud to have become a popular dining destination for Hamilton locals and visitors to the beautiful Waikato Region.

Our ever evolving menu is created by our talented kitchen team, led by Head Chef Cody Nicholson. Dishes are constantly tried and tested, new ideas encouraged and made reality. Ingredients are sourced locally, organically and sustainably wherever possible.
